Drivers ed instructor training. How to become drivers ed teacher. Instructor training. If you are interested in becoming a Drivers Ed teacher, we now offer the training course and also hire for employment. If you are interested in doing this, please contact Coach Adams at 281-455-0609. We are the only ones in houston/dallas that does the training. Some other schools may offer the training but only train their employees only. We not only train our employes We also train all the other drivng schools. So we have the best of the best instructors.

Teacher Assistant (TA) - allows an instructor to teach teens and adults in the laboratory or in-car. No teacher certification is required. 50 clock hours
• Requirements: Completion of Phase I and Phase II
Teacher Assistant Full (TA-F) - allows an instructor to teach teens and adults in the classroom under the supervision of a DET and in the laboratory or in-car. These instructors are highly sought by private driving school directors. No teacher certification is required. 45 clock hours
• Requirements: Completion of Phase I, Phase II and Phase III
Driver Education Teacher (DET) - allows an instructor to teach classroom and behind the wheel lessons within TEA limitations. These instructors must have a valid Texas Teacher’s Certification; however, classroom experience is not a condition for receiving a private school certificate. These are the most highly sought by private driving school directors. 45 hours
• Requirements: Completion of Phase I, Phase II and Phase III
• All coursework must be completed in 6 months
• Additional documentation required:
(1) College Degree
(2) Texas Teaching Certificate
Documentation of the following is required prior to beginning Phase I
• Clean Driving Record
• No Felony Convictions
• At least a high school diploma or equivalent
